No. Six rubber spring dampers absorb the drop before it reaches the floor, four at the weight sled and one on either side of the handle. Model One is designed to be used in apartments, hotels, home gyms, second-floor spaces, and gyms where dropping weight isn't allowed.
The footprint is 40 × 56 inches, about 15.6 square feet. A conventional deadlift area wants 6 × 8 feet of clear floor, so Model One takes roughly 60% less space.
Lever-arm machines swing the handle through an arc, which changes your hip and back angles as the bar travels. Model One uses a linear linkage that produces exact straight-line motion, so the handle rises perpendicular to the floor from start to finish, the way a barbell does.
Up to 675 lb. The plate-loaded sled runs 1:1 by cable to the handle, so the number on the sled is the number in your hands.
Standing up. Plates sit at hip height on the sled, so there's no bending to the floor, no rolling a loaded bar, and no wrestling collars between sets.
Yes. An adjustable rail on the vertical sled post anchors bands at any height, so banded RDLs and accommodating resistance work without a rack or anything to bolt on.
No anchoring is required. Model One assembles in minutes and stands on its own footprint.
No. Deadlift, Romanian deadlift, banded RDL, shrug, rack pull and bent-over row all run on the same station. An adjustable rail anchors bands at any height, so banded RDLs work without a squat rack.
